Hawzah News Agency- Esmaeil Baghaei, the spokesman for Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, issued a stern condemnation of the "terrorist act" by the Zionist regime, which resulted in the martyrdom of three media professionals.
'War crime, crime against humanity'
In his media statement, Baghaei denounced the drone strike that targeted a vehicle carrying Lebanese journalists in southern Lebanon, an attack that claimed the lives of Ali Shoeib, a prominent reporter for Al-Manar TV; Fatima Fetouni, a renowned journalist for Al-Mayadeen TV; and Mohammad Fetouni, a cameraman for the same network.
The spokesman highlighted that this assault is part of a pattern of hundreds of similar terrorist attacks carried out by the Israeli regime against journalists and cameramen in occupied Palestine and Lebanon, particularly over the past three years.
"Targeting journalists is a gross violation of the fundamental principles of international humanitarian law enshrined in the 1949 Geneva Conventions," Baghaei stated, adding that it is a "clear instance of war crime and crime against humanity."
'US, Western support grants impunity'
Baghaei emphasized that the Israeli regime continues to commit such crimes with full impunity, shielded by the overt political and media support of the United States and certain other Western countries.
The Iranian spokesman offered his condolences to the families of the three martyred journalists, their colleagues at Al-Mayadeen and Al-Manar networks, the media community, and the government and people of Lebanon.
He concluded by stressing the shared responsibility of the international community to hold the Israeli regime accountable and punish it for the commission of these heinous crimes.
